Weblin.io is applying for the NGI Zero Core Fund to expand its capabilities in fostering democratic dialogue across the web. What is Weblin.io and Its Vision for Democracy
Weblin.io is an open-source project that has developed a browser extension allowing users to appear as avatars on any webpage they visit simultaneously. This turns websites into spontaneous social spaces, mirroring real-world interactions like free speech and assembly but in the digital domain. Our aim with the Fund Application is to extend these democratic principles further by enabling persistent conversations. By doing so, we hope to encourage more sustained and substantive discussions across the web, enhancing community interaction and civic engagement.
